Bayview Pride House
New York, New York
The New York City Pride House is a 100% affordable, intergenerational LGBTQIA+ affirming housing community, housing 92 senior adult singles and couples, 32 formerly homeless LGBTQIA+ Young adults referred to the Ali Forney Center through New York City, a 6,808-square-foot space dedicated to the New York State Department of Mental Health Temporary Shelter Program, and a pair of community facilities devoted to the integrated physical and mental wellbeing of the neighborhood and city’s LGBTQIA+ intergenerational community, and the city’s first queer performing arts center.

The urban design of both Block 16 and Block 18 are designed to create a more open, porous inviting heart of the neighborhood. Multiple pedestrian entry points on all sides of the project invite the public into the heart of the block; the heart of the Six Square. A three-block-long urban district with unified placemaking and landscaping, identity/ herringbone brick pattern/shaded courtyards, and a passageway accessible to the public. Provide a permanent home for 6Square and Urban League within the district.
